Tish Cyrus discusses her mental health challenges during her divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus, shedding light on the personal toll of separation and loss.
In a candid revelation, Tish Cyrus, famed manager and producer, has opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced during her divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus, her partner of three decades. Speaking on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Tish, 56, shared the profound impact the separation had on her mental well-being, particularly as it coincided with the loss of her mother in 2020.
The decision to part ways with the 62-year-old country singer, who resided in Tennessee while Tish remained in California close to her daughter Miley Cyrus, was a deeply challenging one for Tish. Reflecting on this tumultuous period, she revealed, “I had one month of a complete psychological breakdown. It was the worst thing; it was not good. I just kind of pushed the mom thing under the rug, and then the divorce thing came.”
This wasn’t the first time the couple faced marital strains, having experienced brief separations in 2010 and 2013 before officially ending their union in 2022. Tish recounted the intense emotional toll the divorce exacted, confessing, “I could not eat. I could not sleep. I could not stop crying.” The absence of both her mother and her husband left her feeling profoundly vulnerable and scared.

Despite the pain and upheaval, Tish’s openness about her struggles serves as a reminder of the human toll of divorce and loss, even for those in the public eye. Her story highlights the importance of seeking support and prioritizing mental well-being during times of profound transition and upheaval.
As Tish continues to navigate life post-divorce, her candidness offers solace to those grappling with similar challenges, emphasizing the resilience required to confront adversity and emerge stronger on the other side.
